V by LouieD0g V by LouieD0g
NOTE: This is meant to be full viewed. A lot of the scratch lines are way too thin to show up in the shrunk view.

"With enough people, blowing up a building can change the world"

I did this scratchboard after watching V for the second time, and I wanted to throw in a bit of social commentary. So here you go. I got rushed for some of the buildings and the shingles, so if they look a bit half-assed, that's because they are ^^;; forgive me

Scratchpaper

Personally whether V is presented as 9-11 conspiracy (Wachowskis) or Anti-Conservative/Fascist (Moore), what's important is the that it always takes a lot of guts to go against the status quo and stand up for justice and freedom, Alan Moore was too harsh to the film. And yeah this is the best V fanart I've seen,Daring and political as the character always was, the perfectly parallel twin towers, which could be seen then (single column) was a nice touch too.

ah the angle perspective and the scenery well put, excellent. what caught my eye was the moon reflecting in the water- the waves are realistic.

If it was for the 9 11th, wouldn't it be in America?

A valid question. Really, I was looking to make a more subtle parallel. My effort was to illustrate a point about 9/11 while using V's world, and I think the play on the "remember remember" poem combined with the phantom world trade center is enough to make it without bashing it in peoples faces.

I loved that movie. actually watching it again for the zillionth time an this is a verry cool piece. I never heard of scratch baord drawings, i gotta look more into it, but I really like the detail an the effects you obtained with it. expecially with the water an the shingles. simply a great piece of fan art. I also like one of the fallen towers implemented into the photo next to Big Ben. gives you a whole new outlook on the movie from the what if perspective. great job

Thanks! Yes, I had fun with this one. It's amazing what you can do with a white board covered in black using a pointy object =P

Very neat artwork. From what I've heard, the film makers Royally screwed up the political intent of the story, twisted it badly into something it did NOT represent.
